Summer has been in full swing since the first day of summer vacation. This year we were able to leave the Saturday after school was out for our week at the beach! It was a nice way to start the summer. We were surrounded by friends at Ocean Isle. There were two rainy days which made for nice reading and relaxing inside or on the back porch. The boys enjoyed riding the waves with their boogie boards this year. They would stay in the water for hours. Thankfully the water was nice and calm. The boys were also able to spend hours in a boat float. Thanks to some friends of ours. We all enjoyed a sunset slush on the beach one day. It was wonderful. I want one now just thinking about it. There were some intense games of soccer volleyball that first week. There were no injuries this year! :)
The boys and I enjoyed a nice relaxing week at home before we rode away with my parents for our next week at the beach. This time we were headed to Emerald Isle to meet Gabe, Kara and Raelyn. The week at Emerald Isle was full of sunny days on the beach. It did not rain until the last day around supper time. The boys once again made a beach friend. His name was Luke. He and his family were so nice and the boys just loved playing with Luke. One day the boys, mom, dad and I took a break from the beach and enjoyed Fort Macon. I had not been there in years. They have a museum there which was really neat. The boys enjoyed the tour of the fort however they did not like staying in the rooms very long b/c  they said that is smelled. Aaron was able to come down Wednesday afternoon and spend three days one the beach. Thanks to my wonderfully father we enjoyed an hour of jet skis. The boys loved it. I loved it! I think that every one loved it. It was an hour full of laughs and splashes of water. Gabe also took the boys crab fishing. Gabe was able to catch 9 crabs. He brought them home and cooked them. Aaron and Gabe said that the crabs were tasty. The boys also enjoyed a first of riding the waves in blue inner tubes. Which they called tutus!
The rest of our summer will be spent at home or by the pool! :)
