Life needs to slow down

I find myself already wondering where summer has gone. The boys and I are enjoying our 4th week of summer. We have been to the beach twice this summer. The first trip was spent with friends at Ocean Isle, the Howard's, Long's, and Boswell's. It was a wonderful time away from the craziness of life. We were able to enjoy a beach front house with a pool. This was a nice addition to our beach fun. Many hours were spent in or around the pool. We took a day trip thanks to the Boswell's and their boat to Bald Head Island. The boat ride was the start to the fun field day. Once we reached the Island we rented golf carts and rode around the island. There were so many gorgeous houses. The light house was beside a beautiful chapel. We stopped at a beach too while there. I can't forget the ice cream that was enjoyed too.

The second beach trip was with Nana, Aunt Wendi, Uncle Brad, Caleb and Brad's parents. The boys and I left Wednesday with a surprise guest. Aaron was not going to be able to make the trip originally but he worked things out at work and was able to come. He didn't tell his mom or sister. He wanted to surprise them when we pulled up to the beach house. He was able to pull that off. :)  These two beach days were spent at Holden beach. The first night we walked on the beach to the water way and found many creatures. We decided that we need to go back the next morning and see what we could find. We were able to find a sting ray and a shrimp. :) The boys enjoyed playing in the pools of water though. :) 

There is just something about being at the beach that brings a sense of peace. It makes me want to spend my whole summer there! If only that was possible! :)
